In accordance with the law, a society is a voluntary partnership of persons which is established with a purpose of achieving the goals provided for in the articles of association with a non-profit making character. In its turn, a foundation, also fund, is an aggregate of property allocated for achieving the goals established by the founder, with a non-profit making character. Founders of societies can be legal and natural persons as well as legally capable personal companies. The number of founders may not be less that two. A foundation can be established by one or more persons. Societies and foundations are liable for their obligations to the extent of all their property. Societies are not liable for obligations of their members, and members are not liable for obligations of the societies. In their turn, foundations are not liable for obligations of the founders and the founders are not liable for obligations of the foundations. Information regarding societies and foundations will be recorded in the register of societies and foundations and it will be available to the general public. |
