| Latvia Nostra | | The Project has two main objectives: I) development of the financial mechanism for financing of renovation of the Riga city culturally historic wooden architecture (in co-operation with the Riga City Council); II) establishment of urban environment development principles and their implementation on a local scale with active participation of local public. The unique European level wooden construction of the beginning of 17th, 18th and 19th century has been kept in a number of places in Riga, including Kalnciema Street. There is no other wooden architecture of such type remaining in Europe. The buildings on Kalnciema Street form a unique ensemble, which after renovation might serve both for the joy of Riga inhabitants, and as the visiting card of the Riga city for its guests. Klavins & Slaidins LAWIN is donating its services to this Project, and Sanda Lace is a member of the expert work group. |
